Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect nothing.

SalaryTruth has no backend server, no database, and no user accounts. Your salary data never leaves your device — ever.

1. Data we collect

None. SalaryTruth does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, salary information, financial data, or any other user-provided information. There is no backend database and no user account system.

2. How calculations work

Every calculation on SalaryTruth — payslip decoding, CTC to in-hand, tax regime comparison, offer letter analysis — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to any server at any point.

3. File uploads (PDF and images)

PDF files are read using PDF.js, an open-source library that processes files entirely in your browser. Images are processed using Tesseract.js, an in-browser OCR library. Neither your PDF nor your image is ever uploaded to, or processed by, any remote server. The file content stays on your device.

4. Local storage

We use your browser's localStorage only to track your daily free usage count (3 free analyses per tool per day) and Pro status. This data is stored locally on your device, never transmitted to any server, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site traffic (pages visited, session duration, device type). Google Analytics does not receive any salary data you enter — it only sees standard browsing data like page URLs and timestamps. You can opt out via Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Advertising

SalaryTruth displays Google AdSense advertisements. Google may use cookies to personalise ads based on your browsing history. SalaryTruth does not share your salary data with advertisers. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

7. Payments (Pro tier)

Payment processing is handled entirely by Razorpay. SalaryTruth does not receive, store, or process any card or bank account data. Your payment information goes directly to Razorpay's secure servers and is subject to their privacy policy.

8. Cookies

SalaryTruth itself does not set cookies. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set cookies as described in their respective privacy policies.

All tools on SalaryTruth are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. Tax calculations are based on FY2024-25 Indian income tax rules and may not reflect your exact liability. Consult a qualified CA or tax advisor for personalised advice.
