1. Data we collect

None. SalaryTruth does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, salary information, financial data, or any other user-provided information. There is no backend database and no user account system.

2. How calculations work

Every calculation on SalaryTruth — payslip decoding, CTC to in-hand, tax regime comparison, offer letter analysis — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to any server at any point.

3. File uploads (PDF and images)

PDF files are read using PDF.js, an open-source library that processes files entirely in your browser. Images are processed using Tesseract.js, an in-browser OCR library. Neither your PDF nor your image is ever uploaded to, or processed by, any remote server. The file content stays on your device.

4. Local storage

SalaryTruth uses your browser's localStorage only to store calculation preferences on your own device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for salarytruth.in.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site traffic — pages visited, session duration, device type, and country. Google Analytics does not receive any salary figures or personal financial data you enter into our tools. It only sees standard browsing signals like page URLs and timestamps. You can opt out via Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Advertising

SalaryTruth is supported by Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. These ads help us keep all tools free for users.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info.

SalaryTruth does not share any salary data, financial information, or personal details with Google AdSense or any advertiser. Ad cookies are set by Google, not by SalaryTruth. For more information, see Google's Advertising Policy.

7. Cookies

SalaryTruth itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services we use — specifically Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense — may set cookies on your browser. 8. Children's privacy
