Cancel on the website

  1. Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships while signed in.
  2. Find YouTube Premium (or YouTube Music Premium) and click Deactivate / Cancel membership.
  3. Choose Continue to cancel and confirm.

If you subscribed through an app store, telecom or bundle

  1. If you subscribed on an iPhone, cancel from iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Good to know: Benefits continue until the end of the billing period. Family plan managers cancelling also removes everyone on the plan.

Cancelling inside the service is the main step. If you paid with UPI AutoPay, a card standing instruction or a NACH mandate, check that the mandate is gone too.
